Nepal is an ancient land of spiritual practice.

According to Hindu philosophy, there are eight Bhuvaikuntha on earth. One of them falls in Kaligandaki. This river gave birth to Lord Shaligram as an incarnation of Lord Shri Narayan and also produces gold in abundance on its banks. The pure water of this river does not get spoiled no matter how long it is kept in a bottle or jar and remains as pure as zinc. On its shores there are many shrines and places where sages, sages, saints, mahants, munis, kings, maharajas and sadhaks have performed penance.

Kagbeni and the Kali Gandaki river

Kali Gandak River, which originates from Damodar Kund in the Himalayas, and the Gandak River flowing from Lord Muktinarayan’s Gandak, (Kanchat), meets the tapasthali Kagbeni of Bhusundi Rishi. The explanation of its glory and importance is mentioned in many scriptures, Puranas, Mahapuranas, Mahatmya and various sage. In many places, legends and folklore also abound. This Kagaveni is also called Pitru Tirtha and Hans’ Tirtha in Skandhapurana etc. Shastras. Especially in this world universe there are many rivers which originate after that, they flow in one direction, but Kali Gandaki is a river that flows in all directions and reaches the sea.

That is why this river is also called Chartudisha Bahini river. which flows southwards from Damodar Kund to Purtighat. From Purtighat Shila flows eastward to Shaligram Setibahini. It flows westward from Setibahini to Ridi. From Ridi to Ramdi, it flows through the eastern branch, from Ramdi to Chhartighat through the northern branch. It flows eastward from Chhartighat to Devghat. From Devghat to Balmiki Nagar, it flows as the South Branch and from Valmiki Nagar to Gajendra Mokshadham Triveni again as the West Branch and merges with the Ganges River in India.
